Objective

Performance validation

Performance validation focused on changing panel geometry, edge transitions and workpiece movement. The team adjusted the setup during operation and assessed the resulting surface directly on the panel.

Outcomes

Key results

  • Consistent surface coverage

Repeated sanding passes covered the curved panel while maintaining tool contact.

  • Coverage through edge transitions

The tool followed the panel contour towards the edge during finishing.

  • Adaptation to workpiece movement

The assistant responded to panel repositioning during operation.

  • Adjustment at the workstation

The team could adjust the setup and assess the surface directly on the workpiece.

The Robita platform

Robita brings an innovative approach and proven results across aerospace and automotive manufacturing, making robotic surface finishing intuitive to plan, execute and adapt.

Our proprietary platform bridges the gap between manual expertise and automation. Guided setups and reusable workflows simplify standard applications and eliminate complex programming.

Setup adjustment

The team adjusts the setup while observing tool contact across the curved surface. This gives operators a direct view of how each adjustment affects the finishing pass.

Finishing at the panel edge

The sanding head follows the surface towards the edge, addressing a transition where tool orientation and coverage require particular attention.

Response to workpiece movement

The panel is repositioned during sanding to assess the assistant’s response. The footage shows the tool adapting as the workpiece position changes.
